On August 3, a small group (about 1/2 dozen) members of the
Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas
came to Chicago to spread their anti-gay, anti-Semitic, anti-a lot of
other things message.
Or Chadash/Emanuel Congregation was the first of several stops at Chicago-area
synagogues.
Alerted by Emanuel's Rabbi Michael Zedek and by Alderman Mary Ann Smith, members
of the
interfaith community and other residents in the area came together to stand with
us
in unity to declare that WBC's message of hate was NOT welcome. About 250 people
showed up.
